First Blood.... and Kisses

sounds like a trashy vampire novel doesn't it....but its actually the most recent endeavors of my 11 month old.  G finally returned all the kisses I've bestowed upon him with the softest, slobberiest little lips I've ever had the pleasure of kissing.  We were playing on the floor one day and he crawled up next to me and leaned in, and although I was wiping snot and drool off my face afterward I was the happiest mommy ever :)

The blood wasn't as touching of a story however.  We were in panera meeting up with a friend for coffee and I had put G in a high chair.  He was busy eating cheerios off the table (don't worry I wiped it down first) when he decided to get all silly.  He's recently started flailing around and shaking his head, making silly faces and occasionally headbutting items, usually the couch pillows or mommy's soft chest.  But this time he decided to make contact with the table and the poor little guy ended up with a bloody lip.  Many tears and attempts to calm him down by putting ice on his lip ensued.  But he was only calmed by being able to hold the whole cup of ice cubes and then proceeded to dump the contents on the table and then had a blast pushing the ice cubes one by one onto the floor (so much for being inconsolable).  That will be the last time I'll put him so close to the table in a high chair but I'm sure not the last time I'll be wiping away his tears and caring for his "wounds"

We had a beautiful day this last friday, so beautiful in fact that I skipped out of work an hour early so I could drive home and play outside with my boys.  G loves the little slide we got for him last year and we attempted to take a wagon ride but G refuses to stay seated....he'd prefer to steer and pull the wagon himself....sigh.

well thats all for now, till next time

doesn't he look scrappy with his sweat pants and one shoe missing?
(thats what happens sometimes when daddy watches you all day :)  )

Refusing to sit in his wagon...."but mommy I just want to steer it"

The only way we'd get him to sit...I have a feeling there is going to be
a lot of compromising in the years to come

and because I'm on a roll......

here are G's new shoes...aren't they the most adorable thing you've ever seen?  and they fit his pudgy little feet (bonus!)

A Tuesday Night Update

G is sick again...

these last few months have been a never ending battle with coughs, sleepless nights, runny noses, fevers and one crabby baby.  I swear, next winter I'm sticking him in a bubble! How in the world do you keep your kid healthy?  He's only out of the house two or three days a week and not even at a day care....darn church nursery and your communal toys!

just pray that this bout is just a cold because one of the other babies in nursery was just in the ER with diminished breathing due to croup (boo)

anyways.... here's what else is going on in the Stewart household

  • Our lease is up at the end of June and we're debating finding a different place, now don't get me wrong the place we have is decent, besides the unprofessionals in the office, but we'd really like a little bit more space for G to run around and play outside as well as a quieter street to live on.  However the places we've looked haven't screamed "move here".  The sheer thought of having to pack up all our stuff and haul it anywhere will probably persuade us to stay put.  (By the way this is the absolute longest we've ever been in one place!! two years! thats amazing, we've barely lasted one year in any other apt)
  • We spent this last sunday in New York meeting up with some of our good friends, Cameron and Stacy Hurd.  They happened to be out for Stacy's work and we jumped at the chance to spend a day with them.  We had a great (although very wet and rainy) day with them, traipsing around the city and getting to see some great landmarks like the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. (pics will be up soon)
  • We are busy preparing for our trips one massive trip this summer, we will be heading to England this July for a cousin's wedding and then my parents will be joining us (and by us I mean G and I, Ivan unfortunately has to go back to work) and we'll be showing them the sites of England for almost two weeks.  After which G and I will fly back to WI with my parents and spend a week there before Ivan heads on over to spend one of his weeks of vacation hanging out with my family.  So all in all G and I will be gone for a month (yikes)
  • G is beginning to be quite the little jabber bug, he is constantly repeating things we say or parts of words he hears.  Our sitter tells us its like having a little parrot in her house because G repeats everything her little boy says.  Currently he can say bits and pieces of mama, dada, itty (kitty), boo (as in peek-a-boo) and all done.  He has also decided to be quite the independent little guy, he dislikes it when we feed him with a baby spoon and will "slap" our hands out of the way, and although he can't even walk or reach the handles he loves to push his stroller around rather than sit in it or just be content being held (needless to say I think we have our work cut out for us)

well that's all I have for now, as always a little cuteness to end the post.  Hope you all are well!

Lisa

I just love those chunky little thighs!

Let's Just Say.....

.....it was rough breakfast

He wasn't the only one pulling their hair out.......

An Update in Bullet Point

  • Work is the same old same old, although my job has gotten a little bit busier in the last week or two which definitely makes the days go by a little bit quicker.
  • The G man is a big bundle of development and activity, just in the last week or so he's started to clap, high five, wave hi and bye, say uh oh (but it sounds like uh uh), and a myriad of other cute things
  • Tomorrow is Ivan's 31st birthday, I got him grilling utensils (does that sound middle age suburban or what!) and ordered a cake (chocolate with hazelnut filling) mmm I can't wait!
  • Ivan took off Saturday night and we'll be going up to NYC for the day on Sunday and meeting up with friends Cameron and Stacy who are out for a quick weekend...so excited!
  • Unfortunately that's about it...our lives aren't too exciting...perhaps I'll post pictures of our new york day trip soon.....and to tide you over till then....here is some cuteness
